Icho is a personal commitment of Anna Saura's for the high Japanese kitchen. Owner also of the recognized and already successful restaurant Sakura-Ya in l’Illa Diagonal, with this proposal she moves a step forward in her Japanese adventure. She presents us with a project that deepens in the richness and versatility of a natural artistic and dynamic gastronomy. And that in contact with our country hides even more secrets for discovering.
EL MAESTRO TAN
Yukihiko Shidara, the Tan master, was born to a family of descendants from Samurais. His grandfather had a restaurant in Fukushima, in the north of the country, specializing in fish, one of the sacred ingredients of the traditional Japanese gastronomy. Barely 18 years old, Shidara reached the degree of sushiman, Japanese bar teacher. Years later, he achieved his graduation in high kitchen, called kaiseki.
As a team, Anna Saura and Yukihiko Shidara want to offer a restaurant that breaks the mould and that, first and foremost, show to the public a different gastronomy: A delicate kitchen of surprising combinations, where the prominence is an unequalled combination of the purest Japanese traditions with the best products of the Mediterranean.
